ABOUT ME

My story, my values and projects.

I am Stela Malvasija , a clinical psychologist, visionary and researcher at the intersection of psyche, consciousness and transformation.

I see myself not only as a psychologist, but as a bridge builder between systems, perspectives and worlds of experience.

Encountering diverse biographies has broadened my thinking and sharpened my stance.

I approach even complex or socially marginalized lifestyles with openness, empathy, and professional discernment.

Scientifically sound knowledge and clinical experience give stability to my actions.

My Story

It's extremely difficult to convey my story in just a few lines – but I'll try anyway.

At the age of twelve, I owned a plush Sigmund Freud figure – my first great fascination with psychology. Today I wouldn't endorse all of his approaches, but my curiosity about human experience, its depths, and its potential for development has remained.
In 2018, I began my studies in psychology and graduated with honors – supported by my family and friends, who accompanied me through intensive learning phases, self-doubt, and personal growth. However, I soon realized that pure theory wasn't enough for me. I've always been interested in the lived experience of consciousness – in its depth, vulnerability, and capacity for change.

Alongside my studies, I deepened my practice in yoga, meditation, and somatic self-awareness. For many years, I reflected on altered states of consciousness – both personally and scientifically. I began attending conferences on psychoactive substances and consciousness research, established interdisciplinary contacts, and developed a particular interest in the intersection of psychology, trauma, and neuroaesthetics.

For two years I worked in youth services in Berlin, supporting young people with complex trauma histories, experiences of sexual violence, and substance abuse. Commissioned by the Senate, I oversaw emergency placements and learned more about relationship building, regulation, and the structural limitations of support systems than I ever could in a seminar room. This experience continues to shape my professional approach today.

Driven by the desire to combine science, student engagement, and international networking, I founded the Psychedelic Student Network Germany (PSNG) – the first nationwide network for students interested in psychedelic research. Its aim is to promote scientifically grounded exchange, connect university groups, and strengthen a responsible, evidence-based approach to consciousness research in Germany and Europe.
With Inner Echoes, I have also created an interdisciplinary event format that connects science, art, and lived experience. In dialogical settings, spaces are created in which research, aesthetics, and subjective experience are not separated, but understood as spaces of resonance – as an echo between the inner and outer worlds.

Today, I combine clinical psychology, consciousness research, trauma work, and neuroaesthetics in an integrative approach that equally considers body, mind, and subjective experience. I am interested not only in how symptoms can be reduced, but also in how people learn to understand, regulate, and develop themselves in their entirety.
Perhaps it all started with a plush toy.
What remains is the conviction that consciousness is relationship – to ourselves, to others, and to the world.

My Values

My ethical compass is finely tuned.

I consciously navigate the tension between established professional standards and the individual realities of the people I work with.

I understand values not as rigid constructs, but as living frameworks that combine responsibility, integrity and adaptability.

Encountering different life stories and social contexts has taught me to remain flexible without losing my stance.

Projects & Initiatives

I actively pursue many of my areas of interest through my own projects.

In March 2026, my team and I launched the Psychedelic Student Network Germany (PSNG) – the first nationwide student network for psychedelic research. Its aim is to connect students across Germany, promote scientific exchange, and enable a responsible, evidence-based engagement with psychedelics and consciousness research.

Alongside my academic work, artistic expression is a central aspect of my life. In the summer of 2025, I began to intensively rekindle my long-standing passion for writing. This resulted in the poetry collection "Psychedelic Poems," which will be published in May 2026 and poetically explores consciousness, identity, and transformation.

As a speaker for the Neuroscience & Psychology section of the MIND Foundation, I also organized and curated the first Bavarian event at the intersection of psychedelics and art: “Inner Echoes”.
The event brought together artists at the renowned cultural venue Bahnwärter Thiel, who shared their individual perspectives on altered states of consciousness through performance. The program was complemented by my moderation and a joint academic presentation with my colleague Dr. Prateep Beed.

As part of this work, I also gave a lecture on neuroaesthetics – a field of research that investigates how aesthetic experiences are processed in the brain and why art, music, and visual stimuli can trigger profound emotional and transformative processes. In particular, I highlighted the interface between neurobiological mechanisms, subjective experience, and altered states of consciousness.

My aim is not only to convey scientific knowledge, but to make it tangible – as a bridge between research, art and inner development.
